Transforming Lives by Directly Treating the Problem
A Different Approach to Erectile Dysfunction
The EDGEProcedure was developed to address erectile dysfunction caused by venous leak — a condition often missed or misunderstood.
By focusing on the underlying issue, this physician-led approach offers men a clearer path forward, without major surgery or downtime.
- Physician-Led Care: Evaluation and treatment guided by Dr. Chris Pittman, a triple board-certified specialist with decades of experience in vein care.
- Targeted to Venous Leak: Focuses on penile venous leak — an often overlooked underlying cause affecting up to 80% of men with erectile dysfunction — rather than treating ED as a single condition.
- Minimally Invasive: A walk-in, walk-out procedure typically completed in under one hour, allowing most patients to return to their normal daily activities right away — without major surgery or extended recovery.

Meet Dr. Pittman
The Physician Behind the EDGEProcedure®
Chris Pittman, MD, FAVLS, FACR, FACP (Hon), is a triple board-certified, minimally invasive, image-guided surgeon with more than 30 years of experience treating complex venous disease.
During decades of caring for patients with varicose veins and venous insufficiency of the legs, Dr. Pittman began hearing a strikingly consistent story. Many male patients shared that their urologists had diagnosed them with a “venous leak” contributing to erectile dysfunction — and that they had been told little could be done beyond medications, injections, or implants.
Venous leak is a well-recognized cause of disease in the legs and elsewhere in the body and is routinely treated using image-guided, minimally invasive techniques. Drawing on his extensive background in venous anatomy, duplex ultrasound, and vein ablation, Dr. Pittman recognized that the same principles could be applied to erectile dysfunction caused by abnormal venous drainage.
This insight led to the development of the EDGEProcedure®, a patent-pending, minimally invasive treatment approach designed to address the underlying venous cause of erectile dysfunction rather than simply managing symptoms.
The EDGEProcedure represents a new way of thinking about erectile dysfunction — one grounded in vascular science, precision imaging, and decades of experience treating venous disease safely and effectively.
Why No One Told You About This
For decades, erectile dysfunction has been treated as a single problem — often with pills, injections, or invasive surgery.
Pills
Injections
Surgery
What many men are never told is that erectile dysfunction can have different causes. One of the most common is penile venous leak—a condition in which blood cannot be properly retained within the penis to maintain an erection.
Despite affecting a large percentage of men with ED, venous leak has historically had no widely accepted, minimally invasive treatment. That’s not because it isn’t real — it’s because the technology to address it didn’t exist in this way.
The EDGEProcedure® was developed to change that.
The EDGEProcedure was created by adapting proven vein-treatment technology already used safely elsewhere in the body and applying it specifically to penile veins. This physician-led approach represents a new direction for men who were told to “just try another pill.”
Common Questions
Straight answers to questions we hear every day
Have You Been Diagnosed with Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Due to A Venous Leak?
Penile venous leak is a common but often overlooked cause of erectile dysfunction, affecting up to 80% of men with ED. The EDGEProcedure® is a breakthrough procedure that targets this underlying cause. Despite decades of research, there has been no widely accepted treatment for ED caused by venous leak — until now.
How Does the EDGEProcedure® Work?
Using advanced ultrasound-guided technology, the EDGEProcedure® precisely targets and closes malfunctioning veins that cause venous leak. This restores natural blood retention, helping improve erectile firmness and function — without surgery, implants, or medication.
Is the EDGEProcedure® FDA-Approved?
No. The EDGEProcedure® adapts a proven approach for treating veins elsewhere in the body specifically for penile veins.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients require more than one treatment for best results. Some notice immediate improvement after one session, while others may benefit from several treatments over a few months, depending on severity and response.
What Are the Risks of The EDGEProcedure®?
Early results have shown an excellent safety profile. Mild bruising, swelling, or discomfort are possible but have not been reported.
Always discuss risks, benefits, and alternatives with your physician.
